IAFF 58th Convention Recap
Brothers and Sisters,
Last week principal officers and delegates traveled to Arlington, Texas for the 58th IAFF Biennial Convention. During the convention, delegates voted on decisions to move the IAFF forward, put the health and safety of our members at the front line, and ensure the IAFF is evolving with the rapidly changing fire service.
Over 70 resolutions were brought to the table last week, and over 50 resolutions were adopted by delegates at the convention.
Several resolutions are extremely important and worth noting.
Resolution No 11. Establishing the IAFF as a leader in Fire Service Training and Professional Development
Resolution No 12. Establishing IAFF Global Membership
Resolution No 13. Abolishment of the Alumni Program
Resolution No 16. PPE Manufactueres Code of Conduct
Resolution No 22. Creating an IAFF Executive Leadership Program
Resolution No 45 – REJECTED BY DELEGATION- District Vice President Severance Pay
Resolution No 54. Support for Research in to Occupational Nondegenerative Disorders Among Fire Fighters
Resolution No 66. Censure of Anne Arundel County States Attorney
Resolution No 67. Censure City of Annapolis Alderman Rob Savidge
Delegates representing Anne Arundel County remained involved throughout the week in meaningful conversation and votes to enhance the IAFF.
