Motorcycle ride.........SUCCESS!

Updated On: Sep 01, 2008 (20:19:00)

This event was a huge success. All the folks from the Burn Foundation and the members of Local 1563 made this the biggest success to date. The sponsors and supporters helped the Anne Arundel County Burn Foundation raise more than $26k. This money will definitely enhance and step up the great support that this group gives to burn victims. GREAT JOB by ALL!

Telestaffing

Updated On: Jul 17, 2008 (13:06:00)

Thank you for your continued patience as we try to identify the Telestaff telecom problems.  At this time, we are focusing on those times when someone should have received a call from TS, but didn't.  Of particular interest are those calls where the contact log shows a call but none was received and the outcome indicates otherwise.  For example, you may see 'voice w/o password' in the contact log even though you know that no call was received.  We are moving forward by gathering extensive information about each instance and attempting to identify patterns.  To that end, I will need the following information for each and every instance where TS should have called you and didn't.

The info that I need is as follows:

1. Your Name:

2. Phone #'s that TS should have used:

3. Home/Cell for each number

4. Are these phone numbers local (410, 443, etc), local long-distance (requires a 1 even though it is a local area code), or long-distance?

5. Type of each phone:

6. Carrier (for each phone):

7. Have you ever received calls from TS on these numbers before?

8. How do you know that TS should have called you but didn't?

9. Type of call:  Vacancy, notification, message, etc.

10. If vacancy: provide date, unit, position, and hours of vacancy.

11. If possible, is the area you were in at the time of the call an area that normally provides you with dependable coverage?

I realize that this process has become tedious and drawn out.  However, we are receiving strong support from the company that owns TS and they are requesting the additional data so we try to identify any patterns.  Please take the time to provide timely and accurate information so we can close this problem as soon as possible.

Thank you for your continued efforts.  BC Lisa Mayers

At the May 2008 Regular Montly Meeting, the general membership passed a motion to table any proposal that would result in a cost of more than $500 to the next regular meeting.  This will give the Local an opportunity to advertise the motion on its website and email all members about the impending vote.  The policy was passed to give all members an opportunity to vote on motions with a significant financial impact to the Local.  You can read about pending motions under the member resources category and then clicking on “Pending Motions.”
